【摘要】:Inasandwichpanel,core-to-facingbondintegrityisnecessarytomaintainfacingstabilityandpermitloadtransferbetweenthefacingsandcore.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoprovideinformationonthestrengthandqualityofcore-to-facingbonds.Itcanalsobeusedtoproduceflatwisetensilestrengthdataforthecorematerial.Whileitisprimarilyusedasaqualitycontroltestforbondedsandwichpanels,itcanalsobeusedtoproduceflatwisetensilestrengthdataforstructuraldesignproperties,materialspecifications,andresearchanddevelopmentapplications.Factorsthatinfluencetheflatwisetensilestrengthandshallthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:facingmaterial,corematerial,adhesivematerial,methodsofmaterialfabrication,facingstackingsequenceandoverallthickness,coregeometry(cellsize),coredensity,adhesivethickness,specimengeometry,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,environmentoftesting,specimenalignment,loadingprocedure,speedoftesting,facingvoidcontent,adhesivevoidcontent,andfacingvolumepercentreinforcement.Propertiesthatmaybederivedfromthistestmethodincludeflatwisetensilestrength.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminestheflatwisetensilestrengthofthecore,thecore-to-facingbond,orthefacingofanassembledsandwichpanel.Permissiblecorematerialformsincludethosewithcontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchasbalsawoodandfoams)aswellasthosewithdiscontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchashoneycomb).1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
