【摘要】:Thisstandardappliestosurgeprotectorsforapplicationonmulticonductorbalancedorunbalanceddata,communications,andsignalingcircuitswithvoltagesequaltoorlessthan1000Vrms,or1200Vdc.Thesesurgeprotectorsaredesignedtolimitvoltagesurges,currentsurges,orboth.Thisstandarddescribesthemethodsoftestingandcriteriafordeterminingtheendoflifeofelectricalsurgeprotectorsusedinlow-voltagedata,communications,andsignalingcircuits.Thesurgeprotectorscoveredaremultiple-componentseriesorparallelcombinationsoflinearornonlinearelements,packagedforthepurposeoflimitingvoltage,current,orboth.Thisstandardisnotintendedtocoverpackagedsinglegastube,airgap,varistor,oravalanchejunctionsurge-protectivedevices,whichareincludedinIEEEStdC62.31-1987,1IEEEStdC62.32-1981,IEEEStdC62.33-1982,andIEEEStdC62.35-1987,respectively.Specificallyexcludedfromthisstandardaretestmethodsforlow-voltagepowercircuitapplications.Forprotectionofwire-linecommunicationfacilitiesunderthespecializedconditionsfoundatpowerstations,consultIEEEStd487-1992.Thetestsinthisstandardareintendedasdesigntests,asdefinedintheIEEEDictionary[B1]2,andprovideameansofcomparisonamongvariousmultiple-componentsurgeprotectors.Thetestcriteriaanddefinitionsofthisstandardprovideacommonengineeringlanguagebeneficialtousersandmanufacturersofmultiple-componentsurgeprotectors.
